Florida freshman CB Steele enters transfer portal

Defensive back Chris Steele, the highest-ranked Florida signee in the Class of 2019, has entered the transfer portal.He graduated early from prep powerhouse St. John Bosco in Bellflower, Calif., to enroll in school in January but apparently wants out of coach Dan Mullen’s program.Zach Abolverdi of Gator Sports reported Thursday that Steele and his parents were unhappy that Mullen didn’t reassign Steele immediately to a new dorm room when he asked for the move soon after arriving on campus. He apparently was uncomfortable sharing a room with quarterback Jalon Jones, another early entrant.
