Cincinnati leading rusher Evan Pryor will miss Saturday’s game at No. 24 Utah due to an ankle injury.
Bearcats coach Scott Satterfield said on Tuesday that Pryor wouldn’t play. Cincinnati plans to formally rule him out on the Big 12 availability report.
Pryor has 478 yards with a nifty 7.2 average per carry. He has rushed for three touchdowns.
Pryor’s top performance of the season came on Oct. 4 when he rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries during a 38-30 home win over then-No. 14 Iowa State.
Pryor rushed for 66 yards and a score on 13 attempts in last Saturday’s 41-20 home win over Baylor.
Tawee Walker will be the main ball carrier against Utah. He has 466 yards and four scores on the ground. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby has rushed for 425 yards and seven touchdowns.
No. 17 Cincinnati (7-1, 5-0 Big 12) has won seven straight games and is tied with No. 10 BYU atop the Big 12.
The Bearcats have a bye next week to give Pryor extra time to rest the ankle.
