Marlins extend Rockies’ run of futility with 4-1 win

Emmanuel Rivera had two hits and scored twice and the host Miami Marlins beat the Colorado Rockies 4-1 on Wednesday night to win consecutive games for the first time this season.Roddery Munoz (1-0) tossed six strong innings to earn his first major league victory and Anthony Maldonado got the final three outs of the contest for his first save of the season for the Marlins.Elias Diaz had the only RBI for Colorado, which has yet to put together a winning streak this season. The Rockies have trailed in each of their first 30 games of the campaign, a feat no team has ever accomplished before in league history.The game was scoreless until Miami struck for two runs in the fifth inning. Colorado starter Dakota Hudson hit Rivera with a pitch to open the frame, and Rivera went to second on a groundout. After Hudson got Christian Bethancourt to fly out to center, Luis Arraez singled to bring home Rivera for the first run.Bryan De La Cruz doubled to left to drive in Arraez and make it 2-0.Hudson (0-5) left the game after giving up a two-out single to Rivera in the sixth inning. He allowed two runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings and is still looking for his first win with his new team.
